This book raises an old and renewed problem: is there a real conflict between religion with its fixed texts and science with its continuous movement The author proceeds in his treatment from reviewing three major scientific issues that have caused violent tremors throughout history, and echoed through the corridors of the church courts in the Middle Ages, until the end of accusing the owners of heresy and issuing death sentences against them.
The first chapter deals with scientific theories in astronomy and the structure of the universe, showing how at that time they collided with literal theological interpretations of sacred religious texts. The second chapter presents the modern theories related to the geography and composition of the Earth, and the rejection and sharp theological confrontations they faced.
